- On March 6th at 7:30 p.m. at Council Chambers, the mayor of Norfolk will be signing a proclamation declaring March 6 th -10 th , Juror Appreciation Week . The proclamation signing is part of a statewide campaign being undertaken to thank jurors for their contribution to the justice system and to promote the representation of people from every ethnicity, race, religion and economic background on our juries.
Jury service is an important civic responsibility and is one of the highest duties a citizen can perform in a democracy. Everyone’s voice in this process is needed to ensure fairness and justice in our community. We warmly invite you to join us in this declaration and opportunity to hear from your local judges and leaders.
