D'Arts Fest 2008 is free to the public. It encompasses eight city blocks over 15 hours. It will feature sidewalk displays and demonstrations from Downtown merchants and a variety of area artists/performers including potters, painters, sculptors, stiltwalkers, magicians, musicians, cartoonists, caricaturists, and more, as well as a Farmer's Market, Kid's Zone, Beer Garden, and more than $2500 in Prize Giveaways. One of the highlights of this September 27th, all day Downtown event will be the musical performances. With two stages, there will be no shortage of entertainment including performances by the Johansen Sisters, Rick MIller, Dave Merkel, The Abstract and a street dance featuring Capital Nine and Blue House. And for Husker fans, there will be a 12-foot screen in the Beer Garden showing Husker highlights all afternoon leading up to the BIG game on that Big, Big, Big screen! Most importantly, for Downtown, it is an opportunity to introduce the public to the "new" Downtown with an unveiling ceremony at 12:30 at the Interactive Showplace Stage.
